A new build development which provides five floors of general purpose teaching accommodation as part of the University’s accelerated plans for a second campus base to provide courses in Darlington, bringing higher education to the West of the Tees Valley.

The new facility covers approximately 4,000 sq m and provides a state of the art teaching and learning environment and facilities for university undergraduate and post graduate courses, short business courses, conferencing and special events. The building also includes a library, cafe, social learning spaces and computer labs, and is enabling a significant expansion to the range of higher education courses available to students in and around Darlington. As many as 3,000 full and part time students are accommodated in the building.

The fourth floor has been designated specifically for enterprise and corporate activities. It will be used mainly to host special events for regional businesses and for University conferences. High quality finishes have been employed throughout with emphasis on both corporate arrival to the Ground floor and the 4th floor which has led to a general upgrading of finishes to the entire building and landscaping.

Some of the University's tailored corporate programmes will be taught there and it also has its own board room for hire and a flexible open space, called the 'Leaning Lounge.'
